About Us
Cornelius Ross, master
upholsterer, founded Retrospect in 1991.
Retrospect, located on Market Street in San Francisco opposite the Zuni
Café, is known for its fine custom upholstery, antique restoration, and custom
furniture design.
Cornelius is
continuing a 45 year business tradition – his family owned Ross Upholstery on
Fillmore Street, where he learned his craft.
He also worked for Randolph & Hein, the prestigious San Francisco
showroom, as a journeyman custom upholsterer from 1985 – 1987. He is a master craftsman in every sense of
the word. Working with fabrics suitable
for every style – from damasks to brocades, leathers to mohairs – he creates
custom designs to suit his clients’ décor and their designers’ vision.
Retrospect has been
featured in the San Francisco Examiner, The Good Service Guide, and on KTVU
Channel 2’s “ Segment Two with Bob McKenzie”.
